Today, being Earth Day, lets express our gratitude to Mother Earth- the only home that we have to live in this marvellous solar system
The world is facing an unprecedented crisis and there is so much uncertainty in the air. The advent of novel Corona virus Covid 19, its attack on humanity, exponentially infecting and killing lakhs of people has really left Mankind in a bewildered state. In such an hour of crisis, we express our solidarity and pledge to remain united, to hold hands together to reach out to people who need our help. We stand with all , we stand for all…but sometimes these words do not comfort the hungry soul, does not subside the hunger pangs, does not stop the wails of children nor does it reduce the helplessness of a mother.
As the first step of our Community Reach Out program during this pandemic, on April 7,2020 under the noble initiative of Dr Protima K Roy, Vice President of Hem Sheela Model School and Founder of Protima Child and Woman Development Centre, Khatguria we have distributed essential food items like rice, dal, potatoes, oil to 60 needy families in the village.
We wish to continue more of such programs so that in true spirit we can stand for one another.
Dear children, parents and well-wishers
The world is going through a perilous state. With the outbreak of Corona virus Covid 19 and WHO declaring it as a pandemic, the whole mankind is in turmoil and anxiety is running havoc. The recent data suggests that around 205 countries are affected and more than 11.5 lakh people are suffering from this virus and so many lives lost in the midst of our ignorance.
The invisible, submicroscopic virus has brought Mankind to a lockdown stage- economy has taken a back stage, as, to save lives is now the priority of everyone concerned. We salute all doctors, nurses and other health workers, keeping their lives at stake have been helping people to recover. We are sure that scientists all over the world who are continuously engaged in research work will soon discover vaccine for Covid 19.
For the first time, for 21 days we are experiencing a lockdown and the commencement of new school year is afar. We understand the pangs of children who need to remain confined within their homes and their carefree nature is being restrained. As parents, you also must be having difficult time to manage all aspects during this crisis period. We urge each one of you to engage yourself along with children in healthy, creative activities to remain physically and mentally fit in this hour of crisis when you are at home. Encourage your children to read story books, write short stories, poems, to paint their world and express their creativity in different forms they choose. Boost your immune system with nutritious food. Spend quality time with family and cherish the moments that you have for yourself.
A time to introspect.. Our ignorance, our under preparedness has led to such magnitude of the tragedy. We are crippled with uncertainty and are struggling hard to combat this pandemic.
Probably the Supreme Being has his own way to heal Mother Earth from the bruises we have incurred in her. Now, is the time for all of us to stand together…care for one another.. believe in one religion- humanity and pray for the well-being of this Earth.
We are sure that united we can fight against Covid 19. With new hope, new zeal, renewed commitment we will start afresh.
I end by quoting a few lines from Tagore which has been translated here:
..Restrain yourself from being gloomy in expectation
Free from fear, unleash strength Win over yourself Save the weak, shove the evil Never consider yourself unprotected or feeble..
STAY FIT, STAY CREATIVE, STAY HOME, STAY SAFE, STAY HEALTHY.
Best wishes Yours truly ever
